Vision

At Joiful, we strive to create a supportive and inclusive community where members can thrive both physically and mentally. We value and actively seek out feedback from our members, as we believe that it is through listening and learning from each other that we can continue to improve and evolve. Together, we are committed to growing and deepening our practice, both on and off the mat, as we journey towards greater health, balance, and well-being.

Story

Joiful Yoga was envisioned in 2020, but the plans were put on hold due to the Covid pandemic. However, in February 2023, the vision was rekindled, and shortly after, our owner got word that the local yoga studio was being put up for sale. This was just the beginning of several meaningful synchronicities that occurred on the journey to establishing Joiful Yoga.

At Joiful, we believe that community is everything. We strive to create a space where everyone feels welcome, supported, and inspired to learn and grow together. We recognize that we all have unique skills, perspectives, and experiences to share, and that by working together, we can achieve more than we ever could alone.

We are committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, compassion, and mutual respect, as we work towards our shared goal of greater health, happiness, and well-being.

Slow Flow (Vinyasa)

A slow flow Vinyasa yoga class is a slower and more meditative practice that focuses on synchronizing breath with movement while holding poses a bit longer. Participants move gracefully through a series of poses, allowing ample time to fully explore each posture while maintaining a deep connection to their breath. Don't let the name fool you, though. This is not an easy class! This class is the perfect balance of movement and mindfulness. This is an ideal class for practitioners of all levels looking to cultivate inner peace and physical harmony.

Hatha

Hatha yoga is a traditional style of yoga which involves holding physical postures, breathing exercises, meditation, and deep relaxation in order to stimulate and balance the energy of the mind and body, which encourages overall health and spiritual awakening.

Kundalini

A Kundalini class is a dynamic and powerful yoga practice that combines movement, breath, and meditation. The class typically includes a series of physical exercises, or kriyas, aimed at stimulating the flow of energy through the body and awakening the Kundalini energy at the base of the spine. The class also incorporates chanting, mantra repetition, and meditation to enhance mental focus, emotional balance, and spiritual awareness.

Satsanga (Kirtan + Meditation + Spiritual Discussion)

Soulful Sunday Satsanga, guided by Yogi Douglas Johnson, an experienced E-RYT 500 yoga teacher and ordained minister, it's a gathering of the yoga community for spiritual discussions, Yoga Nidra (guided meditation), Kirtan (mantra chanting), and an opportunity to receive answers to your questions. The term Satsanga originates from the Sanskrit words 'sat' (truth) and 'sangha' (community/association).

Sunset Yoga

Restore + Sound Bath

In this session, let your body and mind relax with gentle movements before settling into a propped restorative pose, to then be immersed in sound vibrations. A perfect way to briefly "let go" of the world and rest within the moment and yourself.

Yin

A Yin class is a slow and meditative practice that focuses on releasing tension and increasing flexibility through deep stretching. The class typically includes a series of seated and supine poses held for several minutes each, allowing the muscles and connective tissues to fully relax and release. The practice emphasizes breath awareness and mindfulness, leaving students feeling calm, centered, and rejuvenated.
